I should have known because the description said nothing about a back strap, but the design of the sole at the heel looks like there's a strap there which could be up or down. I know the original Croc's have a strap that one can use or not as desired. They are comfortable and stylish.

I bought these to use as " beach shoes " but now wear them everywhere. They worked very well for walking on the sand, and there wasn't any concern about getting them wet.
Although I usually wear a size 7, I bought these sandals in a size 6. The 7 just felt too loose and sloppy on my feet. The size 6 fits well, and the sandals are very comfortable.
